An all-star cast including Ingrid Bergman, Rex Harrison, Omar Sharif and Shirley MacLaine tells the tale of three different owners of the same 1930 Rolls-Royce Phantom II: an English aristocrat, an American gangster and a wealthy American widow. Moreau plays Eloise, Marchioness of Frinton, "the lady" whose husband buys her the car as an anniversary present. The film got lukewarm reviews but the sumptuous costumes by designers including Pierre Cardin, Edith Head and Antonio Castillo are worthy of plaudits.
