The Bajan singer (29) and British supermodel-turned-actress (24) are busy touring Europe as they promote their summer blockbuster Valerian and The City of a Thousand Planets, ensuring a multitude of column inches with their individual signature style.
At Tuesday night's premiere in Paris, Rihanna opted for a dramatic beaded bra top and skirt by Prada, with feather detail that wouldn't look out of place at Carnival and took the opportunity to debut her new Fenty Beauty line.
Cara, on the other hand, wore a stunning metallic gown with all the Alexandre Vauthier trimmings - a thigh high slit and navel-plunging neckline, coupled with Chopard jewellery. While Ri-Ri's role in the film might be a relatively small one, she has been ushered out on every promotional red carpet for the film, presumably, to engaged interest from cinemagoers.
Valerian pretty much bombed during its opening weekend in the US (it won't be released in Ireland until August), but critics haven't been particularly kind to the sci-fi action flick, which makes the two biggest names on the bill's daring ensembles are the more intriguing.
The New York Times describes it as "if it were made up on the spot, by someone so delighted by the gaudy genre packaging at his disposal that he lost track of what was supposed to be inside."
The Hollywood Reporter cut straight to the point, describing it as this year's only worth Razzies winner, before launching into the onscreen performances.
"Dane DeHaan, who has starred in two of the most egregiously bloated misfires of the year with A Cure for Wellness and now this, should do a couple of indie films, while Cara Delevingne needs to learn there is more to acting than smirking and eye-rolling. Rihanna should pretend this never happened," the review reads.
"To pretend that there's a plausible or comprehensible narrative line to the film would be a punishable misrepresentation."
Ouch.
While Rihanna's acting career might be virtually non-existent, she certainly knows how to work a red carpet. At Monday night's premiere, she stole the show in a plunging red gown by Giambattista Valli; similar to her turn promoting Battleship in 2012.
While Cara might have slammed her springboard to fame - her modelling career - as not liking "what it was turning me into", she has been relying on her supermodel credentials for the Burberry and Alexander McQueen looks carrying her through to the best dressed lists this summer.
I can't wait to wait to see what they wear next, but I'll pass on the movie.
