    She earned the nickname 'First Lady of Fashion' during her time in Downing Street so it was no surprise to see Samantha Cameron on the guest list of the British Fashion Awards.

    The wife of the former PM looked her elegant best as she arrived at the prestigious awards ceremony on Monday.

    Samantha, 46, looked chic in all black as she joined a table of the industry elite for the annual event.

    The mother-of-three opted for a trendy roll neck top, clearly a favourite of Sam's as plenty of similar styles are currently on sale at her own label, Cefinn.

    She kept out the December chill in the form of an elegant fitted blazer jacket, also in black as she arrived at the Royal Albert Hall in Kensington.

    Adding a touch of luxe to her ensemble Samantha wore a faux-pearl and gold brooch from Oscar De La Renta costing £180.

    The fashion aficionado mingled with the style set at the sartorial event, which was attended by the likes of Lady Amelia Spencer and Poppy Delevingne.

    This year's award categories include Designer of the Year, Emerging Talent and Model of the Year with winners decided by a panel of judges.

    There will also be three special-recognition awards which will be presented on the night. The awards have set the goal of raising £10 million as a primary fundraiser for the Education Foundation. 

    Samantha Cameron, CEO of her label Cefinn, will have surely felt right at home, having held a long career in fashion.

    Poppy Delevingne made sure all eyes were on her, arriving in a sweeping floral ball gown

    The fine art graduate worked at Bond Street luxury brand Smythson as creative director for a number of years, a role which won her a British Glamour Magazine Award for Best Accessory Designer in 2009.

    She then took a part-time consultancy role with the company when her family moved to Number 10 in 2010, stepping down to two days a week in order to support her husband.

    Samantha is also an ambassador to the British Fashion Council, supporting British labels such as Alexander McQueen and Jonathan Saunders, and in 2015 she topped Vanity Fair's Best Dressed Women list.
